Citations are references to the organization found across the web. An example would be listings on Yellow Pages, Yelp, a local Chamber of Commerce page, or a directory of treatment centers for a given state.

Citations generally consist of the Name, Address, and Phone Number (NAP). It is extremely important that the NAP is always in the same format. For example, if the business is in Suite 200, some people might write that out while others would list it as Ste 200. Inconsistency is a problem. It doesn't matter which way you write it as long as it's the same everywhere. We do not want one version on Yelp and another on the White Pages. The same goes for punctuation.

Citations build trust with Google because it assures Google the business is legitimate. The more citations there are and the more consistent they are, the more Google trusts the website and will rank it appropriately.

Web 2.0s are very similar. These are large sites where users and organizations can create accounts. Examples are Facebook, Tumblr, YouTube, etc. Web 2.0s again work to legitimize an organization in Google's eyes. The descriptions found on these profiles are very important.

While the sheet works great, we need to take it a step further so that creation of the web2s by the SEO team is substantially easier. We need to format the content provided by the output sheet. Each different outputted piece should have an H1 and several H2s. Lists should be formatted as lists. Here is a video to show you what we mean.
